Welcome to Northwest Suburban Astronomers!
About the club
The Northwest Suburban Astronomers (NSA) club was founded in 1968 when Jack Kramer and his neighbors with telescopes began meeting informally, officially establishing the club on June 5, 1971. By merging with the Northwest Amateur Astronomy Club in 1976, NSA combined resources and experience, growing to over 150 members today. The club holds monthly meetings, informal "star parties," and annual summer camp-outs, actively engaging in public outreach through events at libraries, schools, and parks. NSA won the 1989 Sky & Telescope Astronomy Day award and participates in initiatives like the Night Sky Network and The Space Place, promoting NASA's missions. Membership benefits include newsletters, observing site access, trips, and discounts, all fostering a strong community spirit.
